NIV Revision

Well the new update of the New International Version (NIV)  is out and look forward to getting my hands on this new revision. Well now it is available online at Biblica and Bible Gateway. I have used the NIV since it first came back in 1973 and my first sample was a single copy of Isaiah of the OT. My old leather bound copy (1979)  is still the one I use the most even though it is falling apart. I also enjoy the ESV and several study Bibles but always gravitate back to my old NIV. I love the way the NIV reads from the pulpit and also can easily be understood by children. The new committee has attempted to find a balance in the inclusive language debate and we will see how well they have managed to find a sensible compromise.
