Presentation at Highfield Baptist

No its not Indiana Jones, as he worked alone, and I work with a great team of archaeologists. The poster was created by Mitch Mealey (ABU) for last month's presentation at ABU. Thanks Mitch for the great job.

On July 8th, 6:30 pm I will be speaking at my home church, Highfield Baptist Church, on the arguments that we make for the location of Tall el-Hammam as Sodom. I will be making a powerpoint presentation and display some pottery samples. Dr. Steven Collins director of the Tall el-Hammam dig makes an excellent argument for the northern location of Sodom right where we are working. Come out to hear the arguments and then decide for yourself if this could be the place that Lot chose to live and that was cursed by God in response to their covenant unfaithfulness. God rained down sulfur (brimstone) and fire along with sowing the land with salt (lots wife was caught in the salting).

If you want to come along on the dig then you can sign up at the Trinity Southwest University website. You can dig for two, three or four weeks in January 2008. Why would anyone go on a cruise when you can dig for pottery (smile).
