Day 3 at Tall el-Hammam
Today we set up the square and began excavating what looks like two wall in a residentical area. We are finding alot of pottery and grinding stones and such. The crew are really working hard. Here is Vanya one of our workers just getting ready to start the day. The view is amazing as we look across the Kikkar to Jericho in the distance.
What is so good about the residential areas is that all the good stuff is in the corners. It looks like we have corners and so there may well be some surprises for the crew. We are working with two ladies and two guys. George is our assistant supervisor but we may open another square to the east tomorrow and George will likely take the lead on that one. Weather has been warm in the mid 60's and everyone is enjoying the fellowship. With 60 + diggers I think this is the second largest dig in Jordan's history. What a privilege to be digging on such a large, imporant site. We can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring.
