Deus Artefacta: Portuguese translation of the Archaeology of the Old Testament

If you’re a reader of Biblical Archaeology, you’ll be pleased to know that I have recently achieved a milestone in my career as a writer – my book, The Archaeology of the Old Testament, has been translated into Portuguese!

This is the first time one of my books has been translated into another language, and it was made possible thanks to a student from Brazil, Luca R. Queiroz, and his colleague Douglas Alves de Sousa. They contacted me and asked if I would be interested in such a project, explaining that there were no books currently in Portuguese on Biblical Archaeology. After discussing the project in further detail, I agreed, and the translation process began.

The translation was a long and arduous process (3 years), but it was worth it as the book is now available in Portuguese for readers in Brazil and elsewhere. I’m excited to see how this new audience responds to the book. It’s been 32 books since I began my writing career, and I’m proud to have achieved this new milestone.

Se você é leitor de Arqueologia Bíblica, ficará satisfeito em saber que recentemente alcancei um marco em minha carreira como escritor – meu livro, A Arqueologia do Antigo Testamento, foi traduzido para o português!

Esta é a primeira vez que um dos meus livros é traduzido para outro idioma, e isso foi possível graças a um estudante brasileiro, Luca R. Queiroz, e seu colega Douglas Alves de Sousa. Eles me contataram e perguntaram se eu estaria interessado em tal projeto, explicando que não havia atualmente livros em português sobre Arqueologia Bíblica. Depois de discutir o projeto mais detalhadamente, concordei e o processo de tradução começou.

A tradução foi um processo longo e árduo (3 anos), mas valeu a pena, pois o livro já está disponível em português para leitores do Brasil e de outros lugares. Estou animado para ver como esse novo público responde ao livro. Já se passaram 32 livros desde que comecei minha carreira de escritor e estou orgulhoso de ter alcançado esse novo marco.
